Class: Shape and Form from the Cast Drawing basics are the foundation to creating artwork that portrays the illusion of form and depth. This class will focus on shape, proportion, and value as studied from plaster casts in the studio using charcoal. Studying form and shape in this way will improve your life drawings and your paintings, too! Class meets every Thursday in February from 6-8pm. Fee is $125 and class is limited to 6 students, so please contact Lacey if you'd like to join. Atmospheric Perspective: Painting Distance Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 12pm-4pm, $80/student. This will be a fun, quick workshop exploring the color theory behind atmospheric perspective. This information will be helpful for painting a variety of subject matter, including landscapes, cityscapes, and even figurative or still life compositions... basically any situation where you want to create the sense that some things are near while others are far! | Models: We are always looking for new and talented models. We work with models experienced in working for colleges, other artists, or whose previous experiences include burlesque or other performances. We are interested in the classic nude, but we also love working with models who are inspired to take on a character and use props or costumes when the pose for us. Models of both genders, all ages and shapes are needed for open figure sessions and classes, which tend to be booked relatively far in advanced. If you are interested in modeling for the sessions and/or future classes, contact Lacey with your information, availability, and experience. It is helpful to include an image or two of yourself, not in order to reject you, but in order to help avoid scheduling similar models consecutively. Please note that Lacey finds herself to be very busy, so please do not get discouraged if your email is not answered promptly. Please feel free to continue emailing if your first inquiries are not answered; eventually you will get a response! Also, please note that Lacey does not currently have any openings for models for her own artwork. Generally, she chooses to work with models with whom she is familiar, after learning about their personalities and seeing that they will work well for a specific painting or drawing. Thank you! |
